Nicole Ari Parker is an American film TV and stage actor who was famous for her portrayal as the fierce attorney Teri Joseph in the Showtime show Soul Food. Nikki Kodjoe became her stage name after her wedding. Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an interest in acting from childhood and received an award for the best Actress award at a Maryland high school competition. Contractor was born at Mumbai in India and grew up in Nigeria up until she turned seven. She'd been exposed to a lot of travel and other cultures since a early age.
